2024 WVPCA School-Based Health Conference

The West Virginia Primary Care Association invites you to our second annual School-Based Health Conference, which has been themed,  "WV School-Based Health Centers - Where Community and Health Connect: Serving the Whole Child". Held on June 13th at The Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in Charleston, WV. This all-day event will focus on serving the whole child by bringing together community health center professionals and stakeholders to share best practices on student health and well-being. Topics will include building partnerships at the state level, the integration of primary and oral healthcare, ending the youth vaping epidemic, inclusivity in the School-Based setting, the why and sustainability of mobile units, telehealth in schools, youth obesity, social media and mental health, adolescent relationship abuse, and body positivity. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with peers and leadership from across West Virginia and the national community health center sector.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Identify and share innovative approaches to delivering SBH services. This will include the use of technology, engagement strategies, and creative partnerships between schools and health organizations.

  • Highlight opportunities for collaboration between schools, health organizations, and community partners to create a more comprehensive and effective approach to school-based health.

  • Foster dialogue and exchange ideas among participants that include interactive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities where participants can share their experiences and learn from one another.

Target Audience: School-based health center staff, behavioral health clinicians, CEOs, CMOs, and Quality-focused staff.

Cost: This training is being offered at only $175 per participant!

This event is only open to Community Health Center Staff.

Registration closes Monday, June 3rd at 5:00pm.

Hotel Accommodations: The WVPCA has secured a room block with the Holiday Inn Express Charleston Civic Center at 100 Civic Center Drive, Charleston, WV, 25301. To access this group block call (304) 345-0600 and reference the West Virginia Primary Care Association. The group rate is $130.00 per night. To ensure access to this room block, make your reservations by May 13, 2023.

Cancelation Policy: Any refund requests before June 3, 2024 will be subject to a $25.00 processing fee. No refund will be issued after that date. Please contact Matthew Arthur (events@wvpca.org) or call (304) 346-0032 for assistance with cancelations. Registrants who cancel will not receive training materials. Substitutions are allowed up to three (3) days prior to the event. Please be sure to provide contact information if a substitution is requested.
